Established in 2018, Sophie Clapperton Designs was built on the belief that good design should be personal, intentional, and lasting.
From its early days, the studio has grown from a solo venture into a trusted design firm serving both urban and rural landscapes across Ontario —including Muskoka, the GTA, and beyond.
Our multidisciplinary team brings expertise in architectural design, interior design, and interior decorating, creating spaces that reflect each client’s story while honoring the context of place. From custom lakeside retreats to full-home renovations in Toronto, we blend artistic vision with functional precision.
We are deeply committed to building science and sustainable practices, ensuring that every project is not only visually compelling but also energy-efficient, durable, and healthy for its occupants. With a focus on craftsmanship, quality, and long-term livability, we design homes meant to stand the test of time—both in beauty and performance.
MEET SOPHIE
Sophie’s journey into the world of design began at a young age, collaborating on personal projects with her family throughout the GTA and Muskoka. This early immersion provided invaluable experience and a solid foundation upon which she built her career.
She holds a diploma in Architectural Technology from Sheridan College and a Master of Architecture from the Boston Architectural College. Recognized as one of Metropolis Magazine’s “Future100 to Watch,” Sophie was named among the top 20 emerging architecture graduates in North America. Her work has since received both local and international recognition.
While highly sought after by leading firms across the continent, Sophie chose to return to her home communities of Toronto and Muskoka to build a career rooted in the places that shaped her.
Driven by a desire to raise the standard of residential design, she founded Sophie Clapperton Designs Inc. to meet a growing need for thoughtful, detail-driven, and high-performing homes. Sophie brings a distinct perspective to every project—shaped by a deep appreciation for place, craftsmanship, and the way design enriches everyday life. As both a designer and homeowner, she approaches each space with empathy, clarity, and creativity.
