Gordon Point

Lake Joseph, Ontario  |  COTTAGES  |  3,000 sq. ft  |  TRADITIONAL

Perched along a sloping hillside on the northern shores of Lake Joseph, Gordon Point Cottage is a classic Muskoka retreat that reflects the essence of traditional cottage design. As one of our early projects, it remains a timeless example of thoughtful planning and authentic architectural expression.

Working within the constraints of a steep slope and a limited 1,500 sq. ft. building area, the design focused on efficiency without compromising comfort. By eliminating non-essential spaces, the layout maximizes livability—resulting in a warm, functional cottage tailored for family life.

The exterior showcases hallmark Muskoka elements, including classic gable rooflines, board and batten siding, and rich timber accents. A signature timber Muskoka room extends the living space outdoors, offering a sheltered place to gather and enjoy the surrounding landscape.

Inside, the cottage embraces a traditional aesthetic inspired by classic Muskoka camps and finely crafted wooden boats. Stained pine ceilings, along with matching doors and trim, create a cohesive and inviting interior. The open-concept main floor is anchored by a soaring vaulted great room, while five bedrooms and four bathrooms provide ample space for hosting family and guests.

The result is a quintessential Muskoka cottage—timeless, efficient, and deeply rooted in tradition—designed to be enjoyed for generations.
