Located on Mirror Lake—a small lake along the Indian River between Lake Muskoka and Lake Rosseau—Mirror Lake Cottage is a modestly sized yet impactful lake retreat.

Designed in a transitional style, SCD provided architectural consultation and full interior design services, helping refine the floor plans, façade, and exterior material selections to meet the client’s needs and interior goals.

The cottage accommodates a family with two adult sons and was designed for entertaining, with four bedrooms plus a basement nook for four future custom bunk beds. The main floor features a striking kitchen with custom shadow-line cabinetry and leathered marble slabs, while clear pine ceiling accents and mixed-metal fixtures create warmth, contrast, and longevity. Custom interior shadow-line doors painted dark grey provide subtle contrast against white walls, while dramatic porcelain slabs in the bathrooms give each its own identity and character.

The cottage was designed to accommodate the family both now, and in the future.
