Project Windemere Garage is a traditional 1.5-car detached garage with an upper-level sleeping cabin, thoughtfully designed to complement the existing cottage on the site. Situated near the historic Windemere House resort on Lake Rosseau, the design honors classic cottage craftsmanship with careful attention to scale, trim detailing, and accentuated rafter tails.

A forest green siding and crisp white trim palette echoes the main cottage, while a bold red man-door ties in playfully with the Muskoka chairs scattered throughout the landscaping. The upper-level sleeping cabin prioritizes bright, flexible living space for year-round use by the client’s three teenagers. The lower-level garage was tailored for ATV storage, freeing the main cottage’s attached two-car garage for regular vehicles.

This project balances practical functionality with timeless cottage character, creating a structure that feels both integrated and purposeful within its lakeside setting.
